Arthur took care of his parents after 1924, especially his mother in later years. He always seemed to have plenty of wood cut up for cooking and winter heat. He stored, for winter use, potatoes in Ida's basement. In the spring, the potatoes started to sprout. These were cut up and used for fresh planting.

Further, the death certificate is in error in that the Town of Cleveland Cemetery is in Cleveland Township, Jackson County, Wisconsin, not in Fairchild, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin.
